Update after the flight
Dec 28, 10:00 AM
By the time you read this post, we’re most likely on a flight to New Orleans.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Louisiana. Since December of 2005, the college ministry at the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton has been sending college students over in an effort of cleaning, rebuilding, and ministering to the people of New Orleans. This year we’ve come again to do just that.
Last year I was skeptical of what could be done in a week. We had about 50 students that came, witnessed, helped, and worked. Each team was divided into groups of around 10 members for each group. In a week, the team I was in which worked with Habitat for Humanity, had finished trusses, window framing, roof, roof paper, and prepping the house for drywall and insulation. When we came, there was no roof on this house at all… when we were done by the end of the week, it was up, the rain came down Thursday, two days before we left.

It showed me so much of how God moves in His good works through us. We relied on Him so much for strength and safety. Just to be able to work together well in the group.
It wasn’t only about working. We walked down the streets, cleaning, talking to the people of this city, ministering and praying… Last year, people would randomly come to our circle and pray with us. Many people still hope in God.

Be with us in this. Pray for health, good weather, strength, endurance, love, light, hope, God’s will… as I’ve come to find out, we do rely mostly on these things.
Updates after the flight. :-)
{P.S. Our team is leaving in four separate flights to N.O. }
